LASACO Boss advises parents to buy insurance for their children

The Deputy Managing Director, LASACO Assurance Plc., Mr. Segun Balogun, has advised parents to buy education insurance for their children to prevent unforeseen circumstances.

Balogun said this on Thursday at the Inter-House Sports competition of Keystone College, Lagos.

He also urged parents to encourage their children in sports and in education.

“I want to call on parents to take up insurance for the education of their children. Such a policy ensures that their children’s education does not stop in the event of the demise of their parents.  Making sure your children receive good education no matter what happens is the best way of showing love to them,” he said.

The Chairman, Tax Appeal Tribunal (South West), Mrs. Olusola Ibidapo-Obe, also advised pupils not to shy away from sports.

According to her, competitions in sports help to unify pupils and instil leadership skills in them.

She added, “Sports unite people and make them healthy. Though pupils of this school have been divided into different houses, they will still come together to compete against other schools. Pupils also learn leadership skills. My advice to the participants is to imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship.”

The college Principal, Mrs. Olubunmi Olumuyiwa, in her remarks, said the decision to hold the competition was to ensure the social and mental development of the pupils.

“I urge you to see your victory today not as the climax of your accomplishments but as a benchmark for even better performance next time. Those who did not win should see it not as a thing of defeat or failure but a challenge to do better next time,” she said.

The Chairman/Proprietress of the school, Dr. Toyin Phillips, noted that the objective of the competition was to ensure the physical as well as mental fitness of the pupils.

“Our pupils are very bold and willing to learn and we believe we must encourage them to be the very best that they can be,” she said.
